Bio for Dr. Walters

Dr. Brandon Walters is a native of Salt Lake City, Utah and has been with the Columbia River eye center since 2010. Dr. Walters received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at the University of Utah and later attended and graduated with honors from the Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton, California. An additional year of medically-based residency training was spent at the George E. Wahlen Department of Veterans Medical Center and at the Moran Eye Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.  A unique element of his residency allowed him to specialize in contact lens fitting that at times are required after corneal transplant surgery or in other corneal irregularities such as keratoconus.

His professional expertise lies in primary eye care for the entire family, ocular disease management for diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and macular degeneration.  His residency training allows him to help our patients in need of specialty contact lenses necessary to fit traumatized or diseased corneal conditions.

Dr. Walters is able to communicate fluently in Spanish and has participated in humanitarian eye care trips to both Puerto Rico and El Salvador.  He is available for complete eye examinations, contact lens examinations and consultations, and medical walk-in consultation.
